Children’s Infectious Diseases (GP information)
Introduction
Clinics are run alongside with a dedicated specialist nurse Maureen McGovern. The services are specially catered towards children with HIV infections and for infants at risk of HIV infection. There is also a clinic for children with Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.
In addition, there are also clinics for patients with metabolic diseases, supported by Dietitian Naomi Riley, and clinics for children with general paediatric problems. Michael Eisenhut is the designated clinical lead for children with eating disorders.
Referral Process
Referrals are only accepted via a letter.

Links to tertiary centres: For care of children with HIV we have have a link to the Paediatric Infectious diseases team at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. For the care of metabolic patients, we have links to the metabolic services at Great Ormond Street Hospital and Evelina Children’s Hospital in London.
