Learning Disabilities (GP information)
Introduction
The Learning Disability Liaison Nurses work to increase awareness of the needs of people who have learning disabilities through training, advice and guidance in order to achieve equal access to hospital services. They enable hospital staff to meet individuals’ needs whilst accessing hospital care by:
- Recommending changes in practice
- Promoting best practice within the hospital settings through involvement in strategic planning
- Promoting effective communication with individuals and their support network
Referral Process
