Luton Sexual Health are excited to host the first face to face event since 2019 to mark World AIDS Day on 1st December 2022.
We invite you to join us to start a new conversation about HIV to include increasing education, reducing stigma and supporting local professionals to raise awareness of HIV.
The key themes this year are:
- U=U
- 2030 Target of ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic
- Awareness of PEP/PrEP
Join us on the 1st December 2022 at The Hat Factory Luton from 5pm;
- 5-6pm – Food and Networking. Enjoy a selection of vegetarian food and cakes while chatting to passionate professionals and community members. Explore the history of the AIDS pandemic curated by Pride in Luton, take a look at Artist, Mandy Webb’s fantastic collection or share what ‘Rocking the Ribbon’ means to you.
- 6-7.15pm – Take a Seat. Listen to speakers share their take on HIV prevention, treatment and life after diagnosis. Take part in an interactive activity and a moment of remembrance and reflection for those who lost their lives to HIV.
- 7.30pm – The Film Start. LSH have partnered with The Culture Trust to provide free tickets to their ‘Filmed with Love’ screening of 1985. Set in Texas in 1985, the film stars Cory Michael Smith as Adrian Lester, a closeted gay man returning home to Dallas after several years living in New York City to tell his family goodbye, but not disclosing that he is dying of AIDS.
This event is totally free and recommended for educators delivering RSE curriculum, health professionals or anyone working with individuals who are at risk of or living with HIV.
We also invite anyone who is living with, or affected by HIV, to come along.
