How can I access physiotherapy treatment?

Physiotherapy is provided in a variety of ways; groups, virtual, telephone and face-to-face. We also offer one-to-one sessions with our team both face-to-face, virtually or over the phone. We provide written and virtual information to support most of our sessions. Patients refer to our service as discreet and empathetic, especially as we often discuss very personal issues.

How soon will I be seen?

All referrals received will be triages and categorised depending on their level of urgency. It is likely that a referral made in pregnancy or relating to a cancer diagnosis will be seen in under two weeks. New symptoms related to childbirth are likely to be seen within 6-8 weeks. Other non-urgent referral may have a wait of up to six months.

What will happen at my appointment?

We will take a detailed history of your condition and general health. We will then discuss an appropriate examination.

For bladder, bowel and prolapse conditions, it may be necessary to complete an intimate examination – this will be explained to you in full detail to allow you to consent to the procedure. If you would like a chaperone to be present, please advise us when you book your appointment.
