Theatres

When Theatres move into the new building there will be eight new operating theatres, providing additional capacity including two hybrid theatres, capable of delivering interventional and specialist services. As well as a new support floor that will assist with a more efficient patient flow system.

Benefits for patients

• A more reliable theatre complex will see less cancellations due to the old estate issues such as temperature control, a new vascular service for the local community with state of the art operating theatres.
• With a new support floor, patients will see more timely admissions and discharges, with better communication between theatres and the admissions team to help relay more accurate theatre times for patients waiting for their operation.
• Patients requiring vascular surgery will be operated on in our state of the art, purpose-built theatres. This new, exciting service will provide life-enhancing surgery for those who need improving the quality of treatment with a shorter operative time.
