Blissful care at Bedford Hospital as Meadowbank Ward awarded Baby Bliss Charter Silver Award

The Bliss Baby Charter Silver Award has been awarded to Meadowbank Ward in recognition of the high standard of family-centred care the team provide to the babies and parents they look after.

The Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation programme is now the UK standard for developing, measuring and improving family-centred care, and achieving Bliss Baby Charter accreditation is an esteemed marker of quality.

Celebrations took place on 14 January 2025 to honour this incredible achievement.

Matron Linda Queijo-Ridor said: “Congratulations to the entire Meadowbank team on achieving the Bliss Baby Charter accreditation. A lot of hard work and dedication went into this accomplishment, especially from Faye Tott, and the positive changes we’ve made for the families and the support we provide during their neonatal journey is truly commendable.”

Family Integrated Care/FiCare Co-ordinator, Faye Tott, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to the whole Meadowbank team. Together we have made positive changes to the ways we work in preparation of this accreditation; from making our Neonatal Unit more welcoming to improving the information and support we give to families. It’s fantastic to see these changes have made such a difference!”

Chief Nurse Liz Lees said: “This accreditation is a true testament to the passion and dedication of our colleagues across our Neonatal services, and a team who consistently strives to go above and beyond. Congratulations to you all and thank you for the kind and compassionate care you provide to our neonatal babies and their families.”
