Fostering links with our local communities

We continue to work closely with local artists, schools, universities and charities to build links with our surrounding communities through the arts.

Staff creative workshops

We will soon be launching a pilot project of creative workshops. These will take place during staff team away days and the aim is to create a relaxing and fun space away from the usual busy work environment for staff to connect with each other, as well as supporting individual and team wellbeing.

Combined staff and patient project

We are working with the Rheumatology department to facilitate the creation of a number of artworks by both staff and patients. We hope to hold an exhibition to display this artwork.

Site redevelopment

The extensive redevelopment work that is taking place across both hospital sites provides us with an exciting opportunity to work with the redevelopment teams to incorporate new art projects into the plans. Watch this space to see what appears!

Other art-forms

In our first year, we have focussed mainly on the visual arts and have also included some poetry in our projects. However, in the future we would like to expand our remit to include other art forms such as music and dance. If you have any ideas about what shape these future projects might take, then please contact us at via email.

Art trails

We hope to launch self-guided walking art trails around both of our hospital sites. Easy to follow maps will be available to staff, patients and visitors.
