What difference will my gift make?

Legacy donations make it possible for us to support the transformations of tired spaces, helping us to future-proof the care provided to you, your family and your friends. Gifts in Wills are a key source of funding, without which, many of the improvements made across our hospitals simply could not go ahead. Your donation will mean that we can continue to make improvements to our services in a multitude of areas, including but not limited to improvements to the NICU, Paediatric wards, Cancer research and development, the Stroke unit, and the Diabetes Centre.

By making a forever thank you to the hospital, you are allowing the Trust to continually grow and improve. Even the smallest of legacy donations will have a long lasting difference to your local hospital whether it’s helping them run more efficiently with a new cutting-edge technology or improving the aesthetics and furnishings of treatment rooms to ensure our patients feel relaxed and comfortable while being looked after.

If you wish to make a donation to a specific area that may have helped you in the past, this can be clarified within your Will. If you do not specify, your donation will be used towards a general service who may need our support at that time.

• The Paediatric Oncology rooms – which saw a major upgrade in facilities. With changes to the overall furnishings allowing us to create a clean and comforting space for patients. Hopefully ensuring that our patients feel relaxed and at ease while receiving treatment.
• The introduction of new innovative anaesthetic allowing for consistent improvements to the quality of care we offer.
• The Riverbank playroom at Bedford Hospital also received major refurbishment as it was no longer fit for purpose. A new sensory area was put in and more space was created to accommodate crafts for older children. These changes work towards creating a comforting escape for the children away from the hustle and bustle of a busy ward.
