How to make a donation

We are here to support and enhance the services of Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Bedford Hospital and Luton & Dunstable University Hospital (L&D). When making a payment please state which site and which ward or department you wish to support across all types of payment. This helps the team ensure your payment goes to the right place.

Our charity funds additional equipment, supports medical research and provides the extras that make being in hospital a more comfortable and a less distressing experience for patients and their families. We rely on various fundraising activities, generous donations and gifts in kind to keep providing high quality care to patients and support our staff wellbeing. If you would like your donation to benefit a certain ward or department, get in touch with a member of the team.

If you are a UK tax payer, you can also make your donation even more valuable to us by opting to Gift Aid it. This means we are able to reclaim 25p of tax for every £1 you have donated at no extra cost to you! Simply complete the Gift Aid declaration as you make your donation. By BACS Payment

This direct payment method ensures 100% of your donation goes to the ward or the appeal you wish to support. To make a payment via BACS please contact Fundraising@bedsft.nhs.uk (we can help you support either site)

By telephone

This way 100% of your donation goes directly to your ward or department. To make a debit or credit card payment over the phone, please call our Luton office on 01582 718 289 (weekdays from 09:00 – 16:30). A member of the team will ask for the information from your card for the payment, so please have your card handy.

By post

Send a cheque or a CAF voucher made payable to Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Charity with an accompanying letter with your contact details and notification of where you would like your donation to go. Online funds

This payment is via our Just Giving pages (this can be subject to administration fees). To make a donation please click here or you can donate directly to the following funds: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Children’s Ward, Cancer Unit, Stroke Unit, Breast Surgery and Maternity.

Without imposing any trust, we note that you may wish your donation to benefit a specific ward or departments. However, in the case that we are unable to meet this request this donation may be used to purchase something of equal benefit for Bedford Hospital or Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.

Amazon Wish Lists

As an alternative to a cash donation, we do have Amazon Wish Lists set up for different areas around the Trust. The male, female and children’s gift lists are mainly for Christmas presents for patients, however the Dementia and Someries Suite (delivery space for sleeping babies) lists are items we require throughout the year.
