I’ve worked in both the private and public sectors, with over twenty years in Further Education.  I am the Principal of a local FE College, driving up educational standards and opportunities for young people and adults. I believe staff are key resources in any business and should be supported, skilled and valued.

I’ve lived locally for over 35 years raising my family here. I love films. I am also passionate about animal welfare and support this wherever I can.

I am a volunteer advocate and I work in the Bedfordshire community, supporting people who find it hard to put their views across and feel they are not being listened to. Within this role I work with vulnerable people who could be at risk. I work with the community health teams and ELFT
the Mental Health teams and ensure their patients are provided with the best possible services. I am also a debt counsellor and help people with their financial problems. I am a director of Healthwatch Central Bedfordshire which enables me to understand both sides of situations concerning the patient. I am the mental health champion and I attend stakeholder meetings to represent the service user’s view point. I have also had previous experience working with the NHS for a large pharmaceutical company specialising in Women’s health.

I like helping people and enjoy working in a hospital environment. My treatment in hospital has been excellent and I feel I would be giving something back. I am a good listener and have a calming effect which would put the general public and patients at ease. I am committed to helping and listening to patient and staff concerns having the ability to get things done. I have a willingness to help achieve access to equal healthcare. I thoroughly look forward to this on-going journey in support both Bedford Hospital and Luton and Dunstable University Hospital.
