There will be an opportunity to meet the Governors between 5:30pm and 5:45pm.
The presentations will be delivered by Clinical Director, Consultant Mr Aires Lobo and his colleagues at Bedford and L&D Hospitals. Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine specializing in the anatomy, function and diseases of the eye which deals with sight-threatening problems. The Bedfordshire Hospitals comprehensive Ophthalmology service provides dedicated one-stop cataract clinics, along with sub-specialist clinics in glaucoma, corneal/external eye disease, macular degeneration, oculoplastics and paediatric ophthalmology. We are a Tertiary Centre of Excellence for corneal transplant surgery, keratoconus, iris reconstruction, intraocular lens reconstruction and advanced cataract surgery.

Great turnout for our Medical Lecture – It was great to see over 170 attendees at our recent Medical Lecture focused on Ophthalmology.
Presentations were delivered on glaucoma, challenges of COVID-19 on nursing, corneal and cataract, swollen optic disc and diabetic eye screening programme.
