Referral Process
Referral for recurrent miscarriage clinic:
Following 3 consecutive miscarriages your GP can refer you into the Hospital to see our specialist consultant.
Procedures Provided
Who do we see in emergencies?
- Pregnant women with pain or/and bleeding in early pregnancy up to 20 weeks
- Pregnant women with high risk of an ectopic pregnancy
- Women admitted to the hospital with acute pain
- Women with any other acute gynaecological symptom
What should you expect at your visit?
You will see a doctor or a nurse who will assess you by taking your medical history and examine you if necessary. Where appropriate a scan will be arranged (may be done internally through the vagina)
How do we run the gynaecological clinic?
The emergency sessions are open every weekday pm. Appointments can be booked via A&E or GP referrals on the day by phoning the Early Pregnancy number. The system runs on a first come first served basis. Priority will be given to those who are unwell. The clinics are often busy and long waits are sometimes inevitable. If the clinic is exceptionally busy we may need to close to further patients.
