Gynaecology (GP information)
Introduction
The gynaecology service provides treatment and advice to women with a wide range of conditions. These include menstrual disorder and related conditions; continence problems; non-cancerous ovarian pathology and gynaecological oncology clinically or following imaging; uterine pathology including fibroids; atrophic vaginitis. We are happy to see patients for general advice on Hormone Replacement Therapy, contraception and sterilisation (including outpatient sterilisation).
Referral Process
Referrals can be made via E-RS.

Procedures undertaken in our Unit include the following:
- Colposcopy
- Urodynamics
- Hormone Implants
- Out-patient Hysteroscopy
- Outpatient procedures for polyps and fibroids
- Laparoscopic Surgery (inc. laparoscopic surgery for prolapse)
- Prolapse treatment with pessaries
- Ultrasound scanning
- Insertion/removal of IUCD’s
- Fertility Treatments
- Oncology in conjunction with Oncology Centre
