Urology (GP information)
Introduction
The Urology Department, located in Zone U, is staffed by 6 Consultants, an Associate Specialist, a Specialist Registrar, 3 junior medical staff, Clinical Nurse Specialists and a Nurse practitioner.
The Department at the L&D is part of the Cambridge specialist registrar training programme, with links to University College London and Guy’s hospitals.
A full complement of services is provided, both diagnostic and therapeutic. Diagnostic investigations include urodynamic, video urodynamic and Transrectal USS and prostate biopsies.
Emphasis has been placed on minimally invasive surgery, especially laparoscopic cancer surgery and laser stone surgery.
An extremely well run MDT meeting runs on a weekly basis to discuss specific patient cases.
Referral Process
Referrals are accepted via E-RS.
