Following a 12-month tendering and evaluation process, Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce that it has appointed ISS as its new provider of catering and domestic services at the Luton & Dunstable University Hospital (L&D).
The new contract will begin in November 2020. All staff currently employed by Engie in the provision of these services will transfer to ISS at the start of the new contract.
Cathy Jones, Deputy Chief Executive at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “ISS have an excellent reputation in the industry and we are very pleased and excited to have appointed them. We look forward to working with ISS to deliver a mutually successful contract over the next seven years and realising the future benefits that will come from our long term partnership arrangement.”
“We would like to thank Engie and their staff for all their hard work and support over the past five years and, in particular, the support that has been provided more recently in response to dealing with Covid 19. We wish Engie well for the future and look forward to continuing to work with those Engie staff who are transferring to ISS.”
Chris Ash, Managing Director of ISS Healthcare, said: “We are delighted to have been selected by the Trust to provide these essential services. The Covid-19 pandemic has clearly demonstrated the need for the highest levels of cleanliness in all our hospitals.
“As the new provider of these services we also understand that good, nutritious food is key to helping a patient’s recovery. Our team is excited to start delivering the best possible service and we look forward to welcoming the transferring staff into the ISS family.”
