On Tuesday 21 May 2024, over 200 members of the public attended our latest medical lecture on prostate cancer at Luton Sixth Form College. The lecture was presented by Clinical Director and Urology Consultant Mr Asad Saleemi and his colleagues at Bedford and L&D Hospitals:

Chair Richard Sumray and several of the Trust’s governors also organised and attended the event, along with staff from the Trust Charity team.
The prostate gland is a part of the reproductive system in men, and the audience heard about the different grades and stages of cancer, the symptoms and causes, diagnosis & tests, and finally the management and treatments.
The presenters covered Male Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) & Prostate Cancer screening opportunities, Prostate cancer Screening and Diagnosis, Prostate Biopsy & MRI, Surgical treatment for Prostate Cancer, Radiotherapy/ Brachytherapy for Prostate cancer, Active surveillance for prostate cancer and more.
