Inpatient Diabetes Service
The diabetes inpatient team aims to develop a culture of safe practice and improve patient experience and outcomes, as well as support hospital staff in the management of patients with diabetes.
The inpatient diabetes team consists of specialist nurses, dietitians, and assistant practitioners led by diabetes consultants, who provide diabetes advice services for patients admitted to the hospital.
Often patients are not admitted to the hospital due to diabetes but being unwell and due to treatment-related factors can have an effect on the blood glucose levels of some patients.
