Whitbread Ward

Whitbread Ward is situated on the ground floor of the main ward block. Its entrance is opposite the entrance to Cygnet Wing.

Whitbread Ward is a 27-bedded short stay medical ward. We care for patients who have been assessed on the acute assessment Unit. The medical team expect our patients to stay in hospital for up to three days or to be transferred to the main hospital if not medically fit for discharge.  We are a multidisciplinary team consisting of medical doctors, nurses, advanced practitioners, pharmacists, therapists and administration staff.

Whitbread Ward admits emergency surgical patients to the hospital who have been referred via A&E or their GP. When patients arrive on Whitbread Ward they will be evaluated by skilled staff and, following assessment, will either be able to be discharged home or will be transferred to the main hospital.
